    Helplessness

    Helplessness

Sometimes the broken moments where we feel like nothing is going the way we want them to makes us feel like we are helpless. Helplessness is not a pleasant emotion to feel but that emotion is there for a reason. Why is it there? It can either destroy you, or it can heal you. You ask, "How could it possibly heal you? Helplessness is not a positive emotion to feel." You’re right, but sometimes the beauty of the Lord can do marvelous things. That one emotion can make you feel so
    Identity

    Identity

When you think of who you are, what comes to mind? Maybe a doctor, a son, a hypocrite, a dad, a liar, an artist, a loner... the list could go on and on. These words are only titles. Don’t Stay in the Poor Me Corner!

When you’re stuck in the house for various reasons, there is a sly visitor who comes around. He doesn’t bother you too much when your health is good and the car is running OK, and the house is clean, and you are busy with life. Don't Fight The Fire

I watched a video the other day of a glassblower forming a beautiful art object. She turned it and twisted it, put it in the furnace and back out several times. She trimmed it, snipped and shaped it until she was satisfied the object met her specifications. Not once did that object jump off the forming rod and refuse to continue the process. Of course, I realize that glass figurine is an inanimate object and not capable of making a protest. But, have you ever watch a blacksmi
    Impatiently Waiting

    Impatiently Waiting

Have you ever had those times when your patience is waning? You’re waiting for something, desiring for something, but it seems like it’s taking forever? Me too. Recently, as I studied the topic of patience I found something very interesting. The deeper meaning of the word patience is, “to continue to be present.” Think about that for a moment - to continue to be present. Oftentimes as we wait…and wait…and wait…we live in the future, overlooking the blessings and beauty of tod
