Having Peace At The End

I’m back with some good news today! God is great and greatly to be praised!

As some of you may know, I lost my dad a couple weeks ago. After months of being in and out of hospitals, he came to peace with the fact that he was about to leave this earth and go to his eternal home. It was a very sad moment when my dad said to me “I am tired of being in pain, but I still want more time with my family”.

I am crying as I sit here and write this but the story has a glorious ending! When I got the call that told me my dad was on his way to Hospice, I knew we only had days, or hours, left. I traveled to Georgia, and to my amazement, my dad was awake and talking with the biggest smile I had ever seen! I was so pleasantly surprised and a little confused at this. When I went over to my dad's bedside and he saw my face, he just cried and hugged me. He kept saying he loved me. Of course I just cried like a baby.

Once his tears were wiped away, he looked at me with such peace and said “I love you baby girl, but I am ready for heaven”. Wow! He was truly ready to meet our Savior! What joy rushed into my heart at that very moment! My emotions immediately went from sadness to thankfulness. My dad was ready in every way. For the next couple hours I got to talk to him, hug him, kiss him. Those moments are ones I will never forget.

My younger sister told me that he had been singing earlier that day so I asked my dad to sing one of his favorite songs, “How Great Thou Art” and asked if I could video him. He just smiled so big and agreed. So he sang and I recorded him on my phone. I knew this moment would become that memory we could all hold on to forever. My dad looked at me with a peaceful smile several times in that short couple hours to tell me he was so excited to get to those pearly gates and see the King. He even told my son on the phone that he already had his ticket. It was almost like he had been to heaven and then came back to tell us about it before he left for good.

So you see, as sad as this story sounds, and as much as all of us miss our dad, nothing can be more exciting then to know that God is real and heaven is real and my dad is there now! No more pain, no more suffering. Oh, what a glorious day!

Have peace today in knowing that one day we will all see those loved ones that are in heaven again because God made a way for us all!

It is up to us once we know the truth to apply it to our lives and repent of our sins, be baptized in Jesus Name and be filled with the Holy Ghost.

Merry Christmas everyone! “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:1‬ ‭KJV‬‬ “Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭28:20‬ ‭KJV‬‬ “If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.” ‭‭Colossians‬ ‭3:1-2‬ ‭KJV‬‬ “Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.” ‭‭1 John‬ ‭4:10‬ ‭KJV‬‬
