I Will Never Leave You

Deuteronomy 31:6 Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the LORD your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.”

Isaiah 41:10 fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

What great news this is for all of us! I cannot begin to tell you how many times God has helped me spiritually, emotionally, physically, financially and so much more!

I could tell you of so many times that God reached down and literally turned what seemed to be the impossible into reality, right before my eyes! But it's not always that way. Sometimes God is working behind the scenes quietly.

One of my many encounters with God's amazing goodness happened about four years ago. I was fired from my 10 year job and I was devastated to say the least. Dwight and I had just bought a new car a couple month's prior and moved into a bigger house. Needless to say I felt like a failure and pretty much useless. I cried for what felt like hours and didn't want to face anyone. I started watching my granddaughter Emma when my daughter went back to work a few weeks later so that helped to keep me busy. In the meantime I was getting unemployment and applying for every job possible. But I had no calls, no emails and three months later still no job. I finally pulled myself out of my misery and began to spend a lot of time with The Lord in prayer, every chance I got! Day after day God started speaking to me, giving me hope, filling me with joy again, reminding me He never left my side. But He showed me that I left His, wow!

It was so true because we tend to drown ourselves in self pity when we go through a major crisis, don't we? From that point on, I became a prayer warrior and I had never felt so good, satisfied and full of hope! God was actually using me to reach other's needs through prayer. It was amazing! Me losing my job ended up being a blessing because I found a way to be fully satisfied in life with very little money that left no room for extras. The only extra I needed was Jesus!

At the end of my unemployment, six months later, I still had no job offers. Now no income at all! Out of nowhere I got a call from my sons friend's dad that worked in human resources and asked for my resume. Twenty-four hours later I got a call for an interview and landed an amazing job, which I'm still at today. God is GOOD people, all the time, even when we don't see what is going on with our eyes. Have FAITH and keep God first!

Let's not forget that God was fully man and fully God so understands our humanity. feels our pain, and grieves with us. He meets us right where we are. He knows how it will end, but He still walks with us through the pain we face. He is a relational God who shares our joys and sorrows. Praise God!
